Hi forum people, Biostarers, Greetings

I need advice to unlock the 720BE i got is 0904BMPW

I can get overclock at stock voltage 3.2Ghz stable.

But when i enable ACC (auto, per core, all cores) via Biostar 790GX-XE, my PC no post. What should i do? I feel sadden by my rotten luck. :swearing:

Should i up the voltage? For Biostar users, which is voltage settings?

VID under P-state?
Or startup overvolt?

i would set it at stock then unlock the 4th core and then start OCing it TBH.
check for bios updates? and if that's no good then looks like your 720 just can't be unlocked. there was never a 100% to begin with..so..yea..
Hi JMT,

i tried at stock BIOS reset. also no go! oh damn! Am i the unluckiest person in the AMD world today?

btw those with 4th cores? Do you have a PCI slot used? I have put a soundcard in my 790GX board just because Biostar audio sucks and no digital out!
im in the same boat, i turn on ACC on my gigabyte board and no post. Even though i didnt get to unlock the 4th core on my chip, my machine is bloody fast anyways
Damn that is sad!!!

Have you tried gigabyte new bios i heard it unlocks the core successfully.

Can it be another person to join my saddness?

my one and only ideas failed sorry thats all i have LOL

good luck!!
Guy, I am sorry your 4th core won't unlock, but you should have known it was a crap shoot when you bought the chip. Luck of the draw and you drew... a really fast Tri-core. Be happy with what you got.

I am thinking is it fate or just a mobo issue to be resolve. /crosses my finers.

ive tried every gigabyte bios that would work with my phenom in an attempt to unlock my 4th core. im in the same failboat as you lmao. but hey, my chip does 3.8ghz without sweating at all.
I heard of a very recent gigabyte bios released that unlock 4th. i heard gigabyte pulled it off also recently.

i think is f3a? or something. very recent like this 7 days. have you played with it?

btw what vcore u made your 3.8ghz at? temp is it good?

i have done my work and i seen multithreaded software, that us 3 core losers may need an extra 1 ghz to equal a 4 corers in performance. owned!

didnt know gigabyte came out with a new bios. gonna check it out. 1.475v im running my 720 and my temps are 28 just surfin and crap, and hit just over 45 -50 under load. now apparently a lot of people are getting incorrect temp readings.
It is not as bad as you make it seem, you have a nice tri-core
Most games/applications use 1-2 cores, with a select few using more. If you look up benchmarks of games, going from 3-4 cores usually does 0% improvement, thats right, not minimal, but ZERO.

and yet it beats every single dual core and quad there in terms of gaming.

dansi, try getting the 2nd or the latest bios of that mobo. reset bios, then time your ram manually. enable acc then increase htt and multi. there's some threads in this forums that does them easy like one-two-three.

here's some thread that helps:

flash to last 2 bios. cant work.

tried a few combination of settings. cant work

my only hope is biostar new bios sneak in the acc code for my picky 720.

at current i run stock 3.2ghz stable, not very high by 720 standards at stock voltage?

3.4 stock voltage. but with an htt bump as well.
i run mine at 3.8 right now...

i got mine to boot with 4 cores, but it's very very unstable. and personally, i would take a a rock solid 3.8ghz triple over a shaky 2.8ghz quad any day.
