Hey Und0,

Check my sticky guide for the most suggested and repped fans here in the Air Cooling section. Push/Pull if your going for 25mm fans and 1 in push for 38mm is my suggestion.

Good Luck

For Push/Pull, I would get 2 25mm fans.
I have these and they work very well.
There are a couple threads that suggest good fans.

$15 for coolermaster fans? Getoutahere.

Choose a panaflo from here: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/120mmfans.html

Depending on what amount of noise you want. I've used the Lows and they were perfectly fine for keeping a e8400 w/ 1.56v nice and cool.
The panaflos will be good, or other fans in the 25mm range are Scythe Gentle Typhoons and S flex, very good fans, ideally you want 38mm thick fans though.

question, performance wise does speed matter..? on this link http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/paaxfa1.html you have 4 types of 120X38mm panaflo fans. which is better..? :S

Speed matters, some say the more the merrier but it all depends on what your noise tolerance is and if you have a fan controller or not. I also like to use the term "terminal velocity" in regards to some heatsinks not needing extreme cooling solutions. Therefore, you may see little to no improvement moving from a 100CFM fan to a 150CFM fan (static pressure is a more important consideration but CFM is just an example). AKA at a certain CFM/Static pressure you will start to see severe diminishing returns past a certain point on some heatsinks.

Not trying to jack the topic, but I had a quick fan question. I'm ordering a Megahalems soon and was wondering whether two Scythe S-FLEX SFF21G or two Noctua NF-S12B FLX would be better for push/pull. Also which of these two would prove better for simple case cooling.

I only ask because I was set on the Noctua, and then heard it wasn't so good for cpu coolers compared to what it can do for the case.
s-flex would be better on the sink. I currently have a couple and they do a good job.

You're referring to static pressure. S-Flex has better static pressure then Noctua fans and henceforth is better for heatsinks. I won't let you jack the thread too long so if you have further questions make a seperate thread but before you do so read up on my guide (1st link in sig).

Also click last link in my sig to read up on our site features and rules and to get your computer specs in your sig so we can help you better.

Welcome aboard OCN and hope to hear from you soon.

Rest assured if you make your own topic someone will answer it within 30 minutes if not within 5. OCN members are pretty quick on the draw, just make sure to read my guide so you know what exactly your asking for.

I have one of these on my TRUE.

great fan. I was using a thermaltake 120x25mm fan that pushed ~60 CFM, and this keeps my q6600 about 7 degrees or so cooler on average.
You could always opt for a couple good Delta fans like the ones that I have. They do very well. However, you have to be OK with the noise!

And the cold too. I am currently freezing my butt off here sitting next to my tower. Fingers are ice cold hahaha.
I was using (2) S-Flex G [[email protected]] fans which were fine but kind of noisy. I had switched to uisng (2) Xigmatek XLF-F1253 [[email protected]] fans. The cooling performance decreased about ~2C on a couple of cores and only ~1C on the other cores but the fans were very quiet when compared to the S-Flex G's. If you want to see the the proof, just let me know
