Looks like your boy rabbs can't even enjoy crysis 2 on his new build

let me explain. Okay so i was playing crysis 2 yesterday after OCing my cpu to 4.5mhz, and having help in a earlier post of mine. Started playing it bout 2 hours after i OCed. At first everything went smooth, later next thing i know i get a error message pop up saying: Low system memory close program or something along those lines, so i had to close down crysis 2. So i was thinking to myself...omg *** i got 4gigs of ram, how I'm i having low memory problems?. So then i check WEI(windows exp index) it gave my ram a 7.9, then i check my system information in control panel-it says: Installed ram 4GB. Then I am sitting there

my head. So then i go to the bios and check there, and what a you know it says total ram 4096mb which is 4GB. So then i check windows task manager, and behold it's been sniffing cocaine. It says: Physical memory(MB) Total:4076(4GB), Available:2300-2400(2GB), Free: sometimes it will say 1GB then 2GB. I want to know WHERE is my 2gigs at or what's taking it? It's even doing the same thing on this other desktop i am on now typing this. Says 6GB total, available 4GB, Free 3GB. If this is the case on windows 7 premium 64bit on both machines, then on my gaming rig 4GB of ram isn't enough for gaming.

Free memory is the amount of RAM that is not being cached by programs/used at all. You shouldn't concern yourself with that. Don't worry, Task Manager is doing its job correctly. Also, it's GHz, not MHz. 4GB is plenty of RAM. What other programs where you running at the time?

Wasn't running much. Had my program running for my r.a.t 7 mouse, anti-virus, and steam. Is it something to do with, show process for all users? If i remember correctly the cache was 777 on gaming rig.

As was just said, Available memory is memory which is available to programs if they need it, Free memory is the amount that isn't being used for cache.

Ideally, free memory should be very low, as windows caches frequently used files in the ram for quick loading (I have 4gb and Free memory sits around 500mb)

As for the memory warning, I'm amazed - what did you have running at the time that was using so much ram?

Nothing was just had steam going and playing just crysis 2. Unless something else started running, and i didn't know about it but i doubt that.

EDIT: I wish now i would of screen shot that error

Hmm, perhaps something to do with your page file? You sometimes get low memory warnings when your PF can't expand, is fragmented or has been messed with.

Well now that you mention the page file, i did set it to 200mb. I did to save space on my ssd. But i don't think that is what caused the error to pop, cause on the error msg i remember seeing that it said crysis 2. Should i set the page file to 1000MB?

EDIT Will put the page file back to normal, and see what happens.

EDIT2 Seems page file is what fixed the problem, grrrr it takes up so much space. Anyways +rep to you guys.
