This will blow your current GPU out of the water: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130464
HD4870 is nice. Or does it have to be nVidia?
um i dont really care if its nvidia or not, this is the first comp i built and just lookin to ?soop? it up a lil bit.
4870 should fit in that budget. 4870 is a 150w GPU. What type of 550w psu do you have? Generic 550w usually has less than 300w on 12v.
Go with what TheCanadian linked you. That a good card, except it has the 192 SPs instead of the newer 216 ones. You could go with the newGTS 250 its only $129.99.
if you can go a little over budget, go for a gtx 260 with 216 processing cores.

its a 550 corsair
There's a XFX GTX260 Core 216 55nm on sale for $170 AR with a 4GB Thumb Drive and Fry Cry 2.

That's a good PSU, you can pretty much go with any videocard you want then.

you can keep the flash drive for something (portable space is handy), and you would also be able to try far cry 2, or sell it to recoup some of the cost of the game
