Help with DIGITAL OUT

314 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Mr Pink57
ok i have this card

http://www.amazon.com/Creative-SB009.../dp/B000XD47DU

and the problem is i can't connect an SPDIF toslink cable to the card to my Denon Receiver. The sound card however does have a digital out 3.5mm jack.

I found this:

http://www.amazon.com/Toslink-Female.../dp/B000FMM8TO

now here's the question. If i use that adapter and connect it to my 3.5mm digital out jack on that sound card can I then use a SPDIF toslink cable to my reciever and have sound?

rep for anyone with quick answer

~thanks

The adapter is only for mini-TOSlink, not any 3.5mm jack.

If your Denon Receiver does'nt have a Digital Input then you need a Digital to Analogue Converter (DAC).

You should be able to do that, yes. Although w/ a DAC.

no--you dont have live drive
I can't seem to find a pic of the connections part of that card. But on my old X-Fi I used a 3.5mm plug to a RCA adapter then plugged it in thru digital coax.
