I have a RAM 1500 (no, not 1.5 GB RAM, a Dodge RAM 1500) with a bad speaker on the driver side. I'm trying to replace the speaker, so I took out all of the screws in the inside door panel, and started to take off the panel. I got all of the brackets unhooked on the inside edge, as well as the top and bottom. I can't get the brackets off on the outside edge, so now it's stuck half on and half off. Does anyone know how to get the panel the rest of the way off? (And please don't suggest a crowbar or a dremel - I'm not looking for extreme methods. )

Thanks in advance for any help!

Pry out slightly, you may see retainers either plastic or spring steel. If so they do require some force to remove them.

I'll try that Duke, thanks.

And yes, I went to carforum, but the last post was five days ago, so no one even checks anything. And my door is hanging halfway off, so I can't go anywhere until I get this figured out. (The Dodge costomer service is awful, BTW. You call them, and they get your phone muber, and place of residence, and street address, and mailing address, anf then the say, "Oh, I'm sorry, we can't help you with that. Have a nice day.")

Be very careful prying on anything that has brackets and spring clips. If you break them, even a junkyard would have trouble coming up with the same parts. Good luck on finding anything aftermarket to replace them.

LOL - I did break them, and I spent 30 minutes at an auto store trying to find the replacement brackets. (BTW, old Dodge trucks use brackets that are very similar to GMC products.)

I stopped in at the local Dodge dealership, and bought some of the brackets I need. I got the last 13 they had, and paid 85 cents apiece for these puny little chunks of plastic!

Will we ever get to see what they look like?
Curious to see if it is what I'm expecting.
