I want to overclock my bro's pc but i need alot of help. Its a AMD Sempron, 1600 mhz (8 x 200) 2600+ processor, ASRock K8Upgrade-NF3 MB, 512 MB Kingston valueRAM, NVidia Geforce FX 5200 (128MB). Can anyone help me with settings for this. Its on stock cooling and temps are at 63-68c idle. The fan speed however is 790 RPM, is that normal?

All of these suggestions about spending money on cooling cost more than what that rig is worth. Tops I'd spend $25 on cooling and if thats not going to help I'd save till I can buy a new rig. I'd say to try to improve airflow, possibly some cable management if you have any extra fans lying around I'd use them. Maybe re-seat the factory HSF and add some AS5.

I'm currently using my backup rig while my sig rig is under construction. Its a amd64 3000+ socket 754. I have it in a $20 dynex case and I added a 120mm fan in the 5.25" bays. I also had bought one of those artic freezer pro when they were under $20. Idle temp right now with 75°F ambient is at 30°c
