Here Is My Folding Setup

Alright, I posted a thread earlier about what to buy and I have made my purchases!

I purchased a 780i Motherboard, Xigmatek Dark Knight Cooler, Cooler Master 750W PSU, 2 9600GSO's, and some Arctic Silver Ceramique.

This will be my setup:

Rig One

Q6600 OC'ed to 3.6ghz
1 9800GTX+, possibly 2 in the near future

Rig Two
650i motherboard, E4300 OC'ed to 3ghz, 2 9600GSO's

What kind of PPD can I expect in a best and worst case scenario, if my budget permits I am going to buy another 9800GTX+ for SLI but will fold with it almost 100% of the time

15,000 - 16,000 PPD with all cards GPU folding, and both CPUs SMP folding on all cores.
The second 9800GTX will get you another 5000-6000 PPD.
You could have just said you didn't want the Foxconn. I would have understood

best case
Q6600 4k ppd (2 dual core SMP clients in vmware/windows)
9800GTX+ 6-6.5kppd

2x 9600 GSOs 4kppd ea (8k total) (with high shader clocks and G92 cores with 96sps)
E4300 2kppd vmware SMP client

total is just under 20kppd

so a more accurate range would probably be something close to
18-20kppd

FOLD ON!

See if your shaders will do 1998. My Evga SC did, no sweat.

Can only get mine to 1944. I get EUE errors if I put it at 1998.

just a question, r u using the Dark Knight for the Q6600? im just curious on how it cools the quad-core when its OC'ed. i might go quad some day with my board and i would like to keep the CPU cooler i have.

looks like a great build to Fold or games, or anything u want

nicely done

I am getting around 5500PPD on the 9800GTX at the 1998 Shader Strap with 420WU's and around 1800PPD with my SMP E4300 at 3ghz, I figure two 9600GSO's and a Q6600 should be good for at least 15k

looking forward to the #'s

i dont fold, so i hope it goes well for u. ive seen my uncle fold on his quadcore + 8600GT (dell for the loss, but he has built so many comps he is tired of troubleshooting lol)
your 9800GT would be good for around 4500PPD if you want to get into folding
bonus of folding ?

You get the awesome postbit, entrance into certain freebies for folders and if you fold enough you are entered into a drawing monthly for prizes, plus you might contribute the data that cures a disease

EDIT> I personally fold for my Grandmother who is dying of Lung Cancer and my late Grandfather who also died of Lung Cancer, this is the only way I can feel like I am doing a damn thing about it
