NL aint much better 350€ for the ASUS R2E.
Intel Smackover
Has overclocking ability and it's cheaper than ASUS

I want Core i7 so bad but it's going to cost me and arm and a leg

I think my E7200 will hold me over until socket AM3 Denebs.
Remember, these are the high end boards. Prices will reduce and lower end boards will appear driving down prices.

Also remember these are pre-release prices, once it has actually been released for a month or two prices will drop to the correct level. Retailers are trying to cash in on people eager to get the hardware.

I guess it depends on what we use our rigs for.

My main rig is for gaming. I still haven't seen a single compelling review that indicates that there are any significant benefits to gaming by moving to the i7.

The productivity benefits are fine for those that need them.
