HitACHI Hard Drive Problem!

Hi every one!

I have a little problem that I can really use some help with.

I just bought a HighPoint RocketRaid 4322 RAID Card. newegg has it for the lowest price I have ever seen! Here is the link if ya want to check it out

I am building a 8 hard drive Raid I think it will be a 8TB... here is why I say I think...

In my Mac Pro I have 3 1TB HITACHI Deskstar 7K1000 HDS721010KLA330 (0A35155) Hard Drives- here is the link to them on newegg, but they have stopped selling them.

My problem is, I was trying to find the same drives so I can just buy 5 more and pull my other 3 out and RAID them all together. But since its been some time since I bought those drives, Hitachie has updated there line with a Deskstar 7K1000.B version which has 3 platters and the Deskstar 7K1000.C which has 2 platters.

I came across Hitachies update to the hard drives I found the Deskstar 7K1000.B on newegg for only 80 bucks

But If you take a look at it I dont think thats really the Deskstar 7K1000.B version because it has 32Mb of Cache and the Deskstar 7K1000.B should only have 16Mb. So which is it? I could find that model number on hitaches site. Is it the .C version or is the version I have? Im confused.

I would like to find the same drives I have but if these are a new version and are only 80 bucks then I wouldnt mind getting 8 of them and keeping my other 3 where they are for back ups.

I hope this makes senses to some one.

Question to my post up top.

Firest some info... I was looking at some of the reviews on the drive and one post said he got the model number HDS721010CLA332. Which looking on Hitachis site it shows it as the .C version so it is the newest version.

What If I bought 5 of them from newgg for 80 bucks and RAIDed them with the 3 older versions I already have? Do you think there will be a performance issue?

thanks again!
