I live in a fairly small city in Canada, but I see people selling unboxed 3070's for 2000CAD/1600USD, and even a 3090 for like 3000USD on Kijiji.

There's always been people trying to sell like a gtx480 or whatever for near the sticker price, 10yrs later.

For me, I'm caught between these things
-wanting more FPS/high settings
-wanting to jump down a tier AGAIN, because I can't afford xx70 anymore really
-wanting to keep my current GPU as a powerful backup, and I only have the iGPU as backup now
-wanting to sell it for the cash
-not wanting to be a scalper

So I should keep my GPU and holdout till 4060/7700 level cards, what about you people ?

Nv/AMD are delighted to sell less for more (but they do say their sales are up overall)

Insane.

GTX 1650 - $300
GTX 3060 - $825
GT1030 - $200
RTX 3070 $900
RTX 3060ti (never used) - $1,100

People are cracked out buying these cards. I'll run an iGPU and play SNES roms before I pay that price lol.

Yeah last year, besides BF1/4, I mostly played Star Trek Armada2 FleetOps-mod, and maybe FLT?? IDK but lately I've been playing a lot of Star Wars Empire At War, and only now am I really getting to master level skill at it after all these years. And that's just at the Empire, I 'm just getting into the Rebel Campaign. I think the Pentagon should pay me $1million a year to play this game and advise them LOL.

My current gpu is an AMD RX570. I paid 140 bucks for it a few years back on the Amazon. I just play World of Warcraft (less and less these days) and the older Elder Scrolls games. I haven't seen any 570's but I have seen 580s on the local Craigslist for 400+US recently. So I'd guess 300 for mine. Just a ballpark. Bottom line is it's still selling for more used than when I bought it new.

My mom has been convinced for years since I started online gaming in my late teens that the government watches online fps games to see what kind of tactics are used by players. Bit of a conspiracy theory but I wouldn't put it past them.

I'd hold out until prices drop. The markup is RIDICULOUS right now. I bought a GIGABYTE Radeon RX 5700XT GAMING OC card last year for $400 new. Now they are $1,899! That's a $1,500 price difference. You can build a whole new gaming rig for that.

That's a "ships from China" price. I wouldn't be sending $1000 to the PRC for anything...

I'm from the Niagara region in Ontario. Everything is whack. 3070's for 1600. 3080's for 2200-2400. But in the Toronto region, you can actually find 6900 xt's for 1600. My guess is because amd is still selling them from their website. That's about the only card you can find at "good value". Even 1080 ti's are going for 1000.

Well, I paid 1170 USD retail for my TUF 3080 about a year ago. Now its 2550 USD on the same website, 3000 USD on others.
I've also been looking for a good PSU for about a year now and prices are just ridiculous, about 2x their usual.

Prices for GPUs are still too high here. Videocards from 2018 with a cost brand new of 150-200 euros back then like the RX570 and the RX580 cost about 500 euros used or refurbished now. The GTX 1050 Ti cost about 300 now... The GTX 1650 now cost about 400 euros (launched at a price of about 150 euros). There are no recent medium range new cards under 600 euros (and mid-range cards tend to have low stocks). The high range entry cards like the RTX 3070 and the Radeon 6700 XT are above 1000 euros. The highest range cards cost the same than a good full PCs from 2-3 years ago. The 6800XT cost about 1200-1300, the 3080 non Ti 1800-1900, the 6900XT cost 2400 € and the 3080 Ti between 2000 and 3000(!) depending on the version.

In 2012-13 you could buy a brand new Radeon HD7950 for about 300. For the same money you can only buy now brand new a card (1050 Ti) that is less powerful than a card 10(!) years old...

I am using almost vintage GPU. I won't buy a card until prices are back to reasonable levels.
