Just got my Hyper 212+ and I am ready for some overclocking. I have never OC'd anything before, so a detailed guide would be nice.

I want to OC to somewhere around 3.8GHz or around there. Just something so that my CPU doesn't explode

How should I go about doing this? Does it require going into the BIOS?

Absolutely! Always do it in the bios. Utility OCing is rarely stable or optimal for any setup. Here's a real good thread to study/save as it has a lot of very good info as to "How to" OC and will give you a good path to follow.

should I gradually change it or just set it to 1.45 from the start?

i would try not to at first.. but if needed you can go up to 1.55 but i don't i don't think you will need that much 1.4vcore i think is good or maybe lower if you can.

Then use prime95 at least 6hours or 24 hours and if nothing fails your all good.

I run 3.8ghz, (200x19.0) on stock voltage (1.4), don't forget to OC your NB(northbridge), it speeds up your ram and gives a great performance boost. Just change the multiplier in the bios to set it to 2600mhz, and change the CPU/NB voltage, i have it stable at 1.25v
