Just out of interest whilst on this subject, Is the stepping like a batch number dictating manufacture date?

So all chips from the same wafer have the same stepping for instance?

In the Stepping such as 3700KAB1E0606

3700 - Is the model number as 3700+ AMD
KAB1E - is the actual stepping
0606 - this is the batch code as in date it was manufactured June/06

Just remove the Heat Sink and take a look, you know you want to

Maybe apply some AS5 if you haven't already
