Just overwrite it, say your installing windows or linux just install the new OS over the one you currently have, you don't actually wipe then put the OS system on, well you do but its in the process of putting the new OS on, it warns you that installing this new operating system will erase all the data previously on the old OS!
Ive used this badboy before its pretty good.<br><a href="http://www.download.com/Active-Kill-Disk-Hard-Drive-Eraser/3000-2092_4-10188745.html?tag=lst-0-4" target="_blank">http://www.download.com/Active-Kill-...ml?tag=lst-0-4</a>
Or you could just do what i said... the only point in using software like that would be if you wanted to wipe everything because you where going to sell it, putting a OS on will wipe over existing data anyway!
are you wanting to re-format? (as in to completly erase everything)<br />
and you video card will be fine, you`ll just have to re-install the correct drivers when you install your new OS. <img src="/images/smilies/thumb.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Thumb" class="inlineimg" />
