Hey, I'm trying to resolve an issue that involves my core's OCed clock rate resetting as described in this thread:
http://www.overclock.net/ati-drivers...nt-retain.html
Someone from another forum told me that it was because of something in my BIOS that is switching it back....so he said that I had to edit my BIOS. I downloaded an ATI BIOS editor, so I was wondering if someone could tell me how to use it. I OC with Rivatuner.

You will need a flashing utility to boot into the cards bios from a floppy. All can be found at mkvtech.com Thats about all i can offer for ATI flashing/editing. I have never owned an ATI card so my knowlage of them is limited.

Is flashing the BIOS permanent/can it hurt my card permanently?

Yes and yes.

Make sure you make a backup of your gfx BIOS before flashing.
Also double check, no triple check that your BIOS are compatible as if it does not work you will get no signal to the monitor and will have to get a PCI graphics card before you can flash it back

Have you tried unlocking the card via ATiTool?

Well.....I've used ATI tool beta 16 pre5 build, but I wasn't aware that you could unlock your BIOS with it. Does ATItool perform overclocking at the BIOS level? Also, is there a version that you could suggest? You may want to read the thread that I posted above, for this is the reason that I'm asking how to edit the BIOS. I'd really rather stay away from the BIOS, because it's permanent.
