I have a xfx 6600 with ram Overclocked to 630 mhz, but my core only goes to about 304-305mhz then it starts to artifact. Is there any way stop that from happening or is my card just not that good?

What kind of temps are you getting?

Right now I set it back to the default speed of 299mhz and i have an idle temp of 57c and 70c under load.

Weird, i get those same temps at stock, but I'm running my core at 400. Could just be a bad chip.

Do you have slits on your case by your GPU?

That's pretty warm for stock, especialy with 10 fans...

I have vents next to it and 3 fans in close proximity, 1 intake 2 exaust. Nothing else gets hot in the case, my cpu usually 45c.

Is that idle or under load? That's not very cool at all.

well i would advise getting a better cooler, like an arctic cooler or a zalman zf700? and then try to oc some more, temps are a little high, no where near damage point but high for a stable OC...
