Ok so i installed my new equipment below and did a full reformat to my hard drive. But i cant connect my router for some reason. There doesnt seem to be a LAN connection on my connections menu. Does anyone know the reason for this, or how i can resovle the problem?<br><br>

DISREGARD WHAT WAS HERE BEFORE! Misread your post X-P<br><br>
Try opening your command line (in the <i>Run</i> dialogue box type "cmd" to open it) and typing "ipconfig /release". After releasing it, type "ipconfig /renew" and wait a couple of seconds for it to renew. Try your LAN then!

Have you installed the drivers?

Aha, why didn't I think of that? *sigh*<br><br>
Windows XP is very good at recognizing most networking devices, but, as good Mr. Helix has stated, a simple lack of drivers may limit your connection. For example: you're on the net, but don't have proper access to your LAN.<br><br>
I remember having this exact same problem though, and I didn't install any drivers since my network drivers for my motherboard were already installed, so I doubt that's the problem. Unfortunately, I obviously forgot how I fixed it.

It worked!!!<br><br>
I reset my router back to factory settings and re-installed the drivers. And it seems to have worked so thanks for the help guys.<br><br>
