ok. ubuntu is proving to be very difficult.

how the heck do i install drivers, patches, and applications?

sry for all the noobish threads, you can just delete them (except this one lol)


this is very confusing!

it says to type in "sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-8178-pkg2.run" into something which i guess is a terminal but it says no such directory.

EDIT:
ok i typed in "home/josh/desktop/NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-8178-pkg2.run" but now it says permission denied

ok don't mean to spam but this time i put
sh /home/josh/Desktop/NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-8178-pkg2.run, this time i put sh and it started but then it said there was an error cuz logging is disabled

if im not mistaken in the terminal window you have the option of switching to root. do that then run it through there using the same commands as before. xaimus has the right command to get it to run i do think.
