I have an i5 2500 (not k)

Should I OC? What aspects in games does my CPU affect, and would I notice any increase in performance after OC'ing?

you need k processors to be able to overclock using the multiplier which is where you get the largest gains. you could probably increase the bclk a little bit but that wouldn't make much of a difference. as for whether or not you would be able to tell a difference if you were able to OC, yes. You would see a pretty significant increase in average fps with a dramatic increase in minimum fps (in high intensity scenes usually). you can get a lot more performance out of a processor after overclocking and it is a noticeable improvement in both games and day to day tasks.
