Ok so my water cooler has 3 fans on it and they seem to go at 3 different levels; low, medium, and high hehe. Now i know they connect to a circuit board (its the koolance wter cooling system) so i was wondering if anyone knows how this works. Are there multi-level fans or does the circuit board just vary the voltage?

So why do only a few fans advertise themselves as variable? arent they all variable? or do the variable ones have potentiometers (is that what varies volts.... electronics class was a long time ago lol) while the others dont?

all CAN be variable, but they're not avertised as varibale, unless they have a switch making them variable..

If you had a 12v dimmer switch, you could hook it up to any fan, and lower the voltage to any setting
