Well that processor is for enterprise servers which is mainly used for big companies using server power, not really for personal use. Man at that price I would get a fx-60 or something like that.. They don't give much info about the product but I'm guessing server processor.

Yeh as Opteron chips are supposed to be for servers this one is just one of the best. Only really high powered servers would need one of these.

So, yeh this would not be necessary in a desktop machine and would really just be a waste of money in my opinion.

Edit: Blue_Fire it is £2850 not euro or around $5000

poliant is a server pc3200 ram and the CPU its a kit thats why is expensive probably come with everything but the hdd's or something

You can't really put a value on it as its a server chip, and it probably comes as a rack mounted unit pre-built as TheWaxShop said just without hdd's.
