How is this laptop?

I've been looking for a good laptop to get my mom and I think I found one.

Toshiba - Satellite

What do you guys think?

How would the AMD Turion X2 @ 2.0GHz be compared to my Pentium Dual-Core T2310 @ 1.46GHz (my lappy)?

She's going to use the lappy for web surfing and watching movies.

my guess is your Pentium lappy runs pretty hot.

she would probably love the Toshiba, if she wants to watch HD movies you may want to grab one with a video card, something at least a little more than allocated memory.

Those 2 processors would be about equal in speed. The Pentium Dual Core has the Core architechture and not Pentium. The Turion X2 would also run hotter.

That Toshiba will do her just fine for what she needs. I think it'll be good.

Great choice, I own a Turion x2 laptop and it has great performance, it also runs much cooler then my Intel Celly M laptop.
Like the price as well, only $ 499

Have you checked New Egg for a better price?
Looks like a decent surfing computer.
