How long should it take to "break in" earbuds?

When I first received my JVC FX66's, they didn't live up to my expectations, even for $20 ear buds. 10 hours in, though, I've noticed a significant increase in clarity and a punchier bass. In fact, it's almost impressive. Is it at it's prime, or could I keep breaking it in with my iPod?

This could be, but they sound a lot better than they did when I first got them.
