I've got my x2 4400 stable at 2.70 Ghz using 1.4 volts and Overvoltage (1.6 total) but I want to know how many more volts is safe to put through this chip?

Would 1.7 be ok to maybe achieve 2.8-2.86 Ghz? My idle temp is 28/29, Load is 43/44

Bear in mind that my Opty 180 turns up on Tuesday so I don't care much for this cpu now, just want to see how far it will go!

If you're going for suicide, then I'm pretty sure 1.7 will do it, but do it with extreme caution! I would be safe untill it arrives and only put 1.64 (Yes, 1.64) through it.

Pfft, have you ever heard of suicide runs? Your posts seems more spammish by time.

you've persuaded me. I don't wanna kill it, its served me well.

I think 2.7 Ghz is about the max for the 4400 anyway, its a ***** to overclock. I'm hoping to have more luck/fun with the Opty 180....what do you think?

Is there anything else I could try to get this 4400 higher? Anything over 2.7 and it fails prime after a few minutes

well if you were running water then i would say go with 1.7v but on air i dont think i would, i ran a 3500+ newcastle at 1.75vcore for about a year on water and its still alive and my opti 170 used 1.7vcore and it is still alive but those were on water so temps never got above 47c load dual prime

i would try maybe a small bump to like 1.64 and see what temps you are getting and see if that will help you get any higher
