I'm curious, can you find a PC laptop that has similar or better parts than this MB much cheaper?
I'm not looking to buy a MB, but I am very interested how much cheaper you could get the same/similar setup.

I've had a look at a few 13" laptops and it doesn't seem that much of a difference, but I don't exactly know where to look for the good deals.
Do you think the MB is reasonably priced or overpriced?

And a nice extra chunk of screen.

That is the same cost, but has a 9800M

Does it? I'm looking at the specs and it says a ATI Radeon 4650M 1GB.

It's slightly cheaper and seems to exceed the MB's hardware on most things, larger screen and resolution, slightly faster processor, more but slightly slower RAM, much better graphics card than the 9400M.

For an additional $250 the MB can match the 500GB HD and 4GB RAM.

The funny thing is that those parts cost a lot less than $250. Sometimes you dont get what you pay for though I guess.

If not you can get GMA based laptops for much cheaper than that macbook.

Yeah dedicated GPU is important, or at least not the GMA's.

Yeah I know, it's $100 for the 4GB RAM (which is OK imo), $150 for the HD (bit pricey).

Yeah but they're meant for totally different things, if you want that kind of gaming laptop, then that's probably good value, but it will have poor battery life.
I'm betting it would be really bad for web browsing, taking notes, watching movies etc.. without it plugged in.

EDIT:
This is the site I'm using to compare the GPUs:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Compari...rds.130.0.html
AND also this section which shows FPS of games:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Compute...s.13849.0.html
Click a GPU and it shows you the details, clock speed etc.. and the individual games it's been tested on and how it performs. A really great site!

If you have a look at the second link for the FPS for Crysis for the 9400M, and the GT 240M 1GB, the GT is only about double the 9400M on low, it doesn't appear that good.
