it all depends on what you plan to use your sound car for. Do you plan to game? watch movies? listen to music? are you going to want to mix your own tunes?
Then you also have to keep in mind that the speaker setup you're getting is pretty decent (read midline) so why are you looking to get a crappy source for them? a cheap sound card will not be a huge difference over the onboard sound on your mobo.
there are cheap sound cards, but typically they have crappy analogue output (which is what you would use with your speakers)
If you want to game, then you need to suck it up and buy an x-fi. if you only want to watch movies and listen to music you can make due with a lesser card, but know that your dolby processing won't be as good
