How much is this PC worth?

Hey guys,

Saw this ad in my local CraigsList. I was wondering, how much would that PC go for? This isn't mine and I'm not looking for a "guesstimate" for me, just wondering how much they're over-asking...I plan to send that person an email and kindly explain to them a realistic price to set...because I believe this is overpriced about $700.

link? or is your sig rig what you saw on craigslist?
I think you might have left a link out. Otherwise; if you're talking about your sig rig ($775) and you think it's $700 overpriced you're saying it should be $75?

Wait. Where's his GPU?
Added link...sorry guys, as I was posting this, I got into an argument with brother resulting in our pc's being unplugged.
Yeah, that looks like a $100 system at most. It was probably $700 when brand new, but now it's obsolete.

BS, computers are like fine wine. They get more expensive with age.

Oh, except with computers, it's like opening the fine wine and pouring it in a plastic cup, then expecting to get what you paid for it after five years.

With everything, he is selling, I'd expect $250, maybe $350 from an uninformed buyer.
I'd give that system $300 max and thats if they took it to your house.
It has a Zip drive so the price goes up $650 more.

But seriously I wouldn't pay more than $200 for that.
Don't buy from that person. He is asking for way too much money. For $850 you could build a pretty nice computer yourself. Most of the extras aren't anything you need anyway.
IMO the nicest thing of that setup is the speakers and those are still $60-70 new.

I'm not sure if you're joking or not...but I have 0 plans to buy that. I just want to email them these replies...

The person selling it is an uninformed big box consumer. The person that will buy it from him will be the same. It won't sell for $850, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it go for $500 due to the accessories.

And, yeah the speakers are the only good extra... Other than the monitor which is just a normal lcd.

I wouldn't pay a cent over $300. A P4 is horribad.
As an everyday spectator/ buyer/ seller on craigslist, i can assure you, you could find that entire setup for under 200 and closer to 100. If you're lookin to buy something used, from someone close to your home, don't jump on the first computer you see. Watch craigs everyday, twice a day, and grab the good deal when it comes in. You will find people selling "decent" rigs for quick cash. But you gotta be active to see them, cuz they go quick. I recently got a 700w rocketfish and a bfg gtx275, both brand new in boxes, for 200 bucks. Score! Keep an eye on Craigs man, the good stuff does come through.

Many people sell on craigs without googling their model number first. It gets real annoyin seeing the guy selling his Pentium 3 laptop for 300 bucks.

You can buy pre-built models with better spec than this for just over 100GBP/165USD

I say $350-400 just because of the accessories. 5.1 speakers and the UPS got to be over $100 together. Then $75 for the LCD monitor.
