I'm going to crossfire in about a month, hopefully. It's just something I've always thought is really cool and what I've always wanted. I'll be grabbing another one of Asus' 5850 in my sig rig.

How much of a performance increase am I looking at FPS wise?

Global, really. All games.

For example I get anywhere from 50-60 FPS in BC2 maxed out during huge fights in which contain explosions and smoke.

You can't get a black and white answer like that in bfbc you will get over 100, but in most games u'll get around a 65% increase. But not all games support crossfire.

As of now, the following games will see a reduction in frames (till amd release updated cap (Google it).
Crysis 2
Nfs hot pursuit
Home front

Went xfire with an extra 5850 last week, despite little troubles.. loving it.
