I'm stuck, I have 2 screw that won't come out and I've tried the rubber band trick and what not. I'm trying to replace cooler on my EVGA gtx 580 BO edition. Currently I have 2 allen keys in place trying to wait for the super glue to settle on them. I don't have a drill or dremel. Any tips on how to get out the philips head small screws? They're very stripped
You will need to score a line out to use a flat head driver. (Dremel is best)
Tools are needed unfortunately, super glue and other techniques will just be wasting your time.
Sorry mate.
Do you have a pic though?, always helps creative mins find another solution.
Not having small enough bits is actually helpful. Use a larger bit than the screw hole and you can turn the bit into the screw driver. Drill in a little bit and then reverse the drill...and it will unscrew the screw for you! Or at least this was my experience. Good luck!
I heard a rubber band on the screw + the correctly sized screwdriver works wonders.
However, worst comes to worst, you can always RMA it. I stripped some screws on my EVGA GTX 480 when I was installing watercooling blocks onto it and EVGA exchanged it nice and easy.
