Actually, Stanford controls the priority of the WUs from day to day. I would think they actually prefer that some of us use the advancedmethods tag, which is why it is in there. It does not stop you system from getting the regular WUs. If they wanted us all to only get 511 WUs, they could do that. The -advancedmethods tag lets your system get the newest type of WUs that have just come out of beta. In the end, you can do either. I find that the 420s runs cooler on my GX2s than the 511s. With an even mix of 353s and 511s, I get about the same as if you were getting all 420s.
They did do a small upgrade to client that runs the 420 WUs that fixed some of the stability issues that I had yesterday. Today, I came home from work without a single EUE. Yesterday, it was not as pretty after some of my systems started picking up the 420s.
