I want to install Linux, but I don't want to format my hardrive...is it possible to install linux and keep windows that I have now on the same harddrive?

Make a partition for linux, install on new partition, good to go. You might have to format the new partition, but it shouldn't affect windows

Which linux would like to install. I have UBUNTU and it works fine.

I see on the download page that 32 bit is recommanded. Is 64 bit okay to use?

64-bit is required for your system.

oh 64 bit hasn't had problems for quite a many years, you should be good to go.
