Hey everyone,
Here's a quick little tut on how to install MapleStory onto a portable storage device (such as an iPod or flashdrive, provided that you have enough space on there...).
Sorry to people who already know this stuff...this guide was intended for those who haven't done this before.
First, find a portable storage device that you want to save MapleStory onto. I personally prefer using my iPod, but anything with sufficient space should do. Be able to access your portable drive through Windows Explorer. If you have an iPod, you must first open iTunes, sync your iPod, and check the setting "Enable Disk Use."
[Your device should have around 1GB free, at the minimum.]
Two cases: Is MapleStory installed onto your computer?
Case #1: MapleStory IS installed onto my computer.
1) Find your Nexon folder.
This should be something like these:
C:\\Nexon\\
C:\\Program Files\\Nexon\\
C:\\Program Files\\Wizet\\
C:\\Program Files\\MapleStory\\
2) Right click on your Nexon/MapleStory folder and click on "Copy"
3) Open up your portable storage device.
4) Paste your Nexon folder into there.
5) Go INTO the folder that you just pasted, and find the file labeled "MapleStory.exe"
6) Right click on it, and hit "Create Shortcut"
7) Cut and paste this shortcut into the main directory of your storage device.
Now, when you want to run Maple, all you have to do is plug in your iPod or whatever and double click on "MapleStory." xD
Case #2: I do NOT have MapleStory installed onto my computer.
1) Go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and download MSSetup.exe from the "Downloads" section.
2) Once you have finished downloading, open it up.
3) When you are asked to select a destination
folder for MapleStory, click "Browse." Find your storage device and click on it. Hit "Create new folder" and name it "Nexon." Click on this folder and hit "Ok." Then continue your installation.
4) When you have finished installing MapleStory, the first thing you might want to do is erase traces of it on your main computer. Go to your desktop and delete the shortcut that the installation just created. Next, go into your Start Menu => Programs and find the newly installed Nexon folder. Right click on it and hit "delete." Confirm your delete and then go back into your portable storage
device.
5) Go INTO the folder that you installed, and find the file labeled "MapleStory.exe"
6) Right click on it, and hit "Create Shortcut"
7) Cut and paste this shortcut into the main directory of your storage device.
Again, just plug in your device when you want to play.
