hi, soon i might be getting a 32~40GB ssd or 150GB WD Velociraptor and i was just wondering how am i suppose to take windows off my 1TB hdd and put it on my ssd???? becuase this is a prime factor of me getting a ssd...plz help!
As long as you're not using more disk space than the size of your SSD, you can absolutely move your current install from one drive to another (or, in this case, to an SSD)
You use CloneZilla, Ghost, Acronis, etc., for that. You are not *required* to do a fresh install. If you have dozens of apps loaded, it's a real pain to have to reinstall everything. If you only have basic Windows and a couple of apps, however, then a clean install might be worthwhile.
