Just got back from a great party. Food, music and interesting people.<br><br><a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img alt="" src="http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/9624/pict5750jg6.jpg" style="border:0px solid;"></a><br>
Our hosts Laura and Dave. Laura is a horse woman and Dave lives to Fish, Cook and throw huge Parties.<br><br><a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img alt="" src="http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/8373/pict5752pl2.jpg" style="border:0px solid;"></a><br>
Even Barbie would like that horse...that horse escaped into the neighborhood not long ago and was hell to catch.<br><br>
100 pounds of marinated fresh slaughtered chicken on that enormous grill--note the bags and bags of charcoal. Slaughtered that morning and slow roasted for hours. An 8 foot table packed with salads and pasta and coleslaw and dips and vegetables and muffins and corn bread. Marinated roasted corn with avocado butter.<br><br><a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img alt="" src="http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/6913/pict5793gx9.jpg" style="border:0px solid;"></a><br>
Venison roast so tender you could cut through it with a butter knife from a deer taken yesterday by crossbow.<br><br><a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img alt="" src="http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/9066/pict5806ov3.jpg" style="border:0px solid;"></a><br>
Cake and cookies and Jose Cuervo in the freezer and cheesecake and dip and chips and chili and crackers and a keg of beer and wine and you get the idea...<br><br><a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img alt="" src="http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/6793/pict5799hi0.jpg" style="border:0px solid;"></a><br>
Plus it was Steve's 50th birthday--that was some really good cake--completely home made--even the icing.<br><br>
A big old fire pit with gant logs blazing in the mist of a a partially rainy evening.<br><br><a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img alt="" src="http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/7286/pict5787do2.jpg" style="border:0px solid;"></a><br><a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img alt="" src="http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/6887/pict5762hx9.jpg" style="border:0px solid;"></a><br>
Two bands set up with amps and cabs and two complete drum kits and about 15 musicians. I think there were more musicians than guest at one point.<br><br>
...and a gutted partially butchered deer hanging in the barn.<br><br>
Every kind of person from a white rasta with dreadlocks and his wife sporting a nose ring to a 50 year old special forces instructor that used to surf in Hawaii. Old ladies and teenage boys all partying and eating and having a great time.<br><br><a href="http://imageshack.us" target="_blank"><img alt="" src="http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/12/pict5790rh6.jpg" style="border:0px solid;"></a><br>

my little girl really liked it.

I have not been out of the house in months dude...this is a stretch for me. I have jammed with some of these musicians--but that was in the spring. It was great to see some buddies again.

I too visited some old friends today...and had a blast...it's been like a decade literally...everyone was well over here with the normal exceptions...mmmmm<br>
Deer Roasted to Perfection!!!!

I wish I could do stuff like that....aside from the slaughtering animals part...I'll let somebody else do that part...

I was invited to show my son the deer carcass but I passed--he has nightmares sometimes so I thought--meh not this time. I should have take a shot of the deer though. But after a good jolt of 12 year-old Bourbon and some frozen tequila and some Beer I was easily distracted....

</div>The poultry came straight from the slaughterhouse to the grill packed on ice. I am a veg but my wife told me it was the best chicken she had ever tasted. Fresh killed animal apparently tastes better, if you like that sort of thing LOL. The report on the venison was that it was excellent. I was intrigued but decided my stomach was already getting a work out. <br />

There were these orange colored muffins with tomato and pepper in them that were killer.<br />
<br />
And some Jalapeno poppers roasted on the grill that lit me up!

Damn I miss the dirty south. We would throw parties like that down in Texas all the time only we were more apt for a nice slow smoked brisket smoked over some hickory. Man that venison looks damn good though its been to long away from home for me.

Dave is a great grill chef--he has a way with the marinade and truly understands the black art of the briquets. I have neever seen 100 pouds of chicken all at once like that--but it was disappearing pretty fast...<br />

Gonna get me the real deal and try not set myself on fire...

</div>No actually this is Up South to me<img src="/images/smilies/tongue.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Stick Out Tongue" class="inlineimg" /> --I spent 18 years in South Florida--and my son was conceived in the sourthern most point of the USA--Virginia is way up south LOL compared to Key West.

Reminds me when the power went out for like a day, and no one knew when it was going back on, and everyone emptied their fridge/freezer and there was a block party with about half the city. <img src="/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Big Grin" class="inlineimg" />
