"The Lian-Li Dual Power Supply Adapter is an OEM cable that will power up two power supplies when the motherboard is turned on. This cable can be used with both 24 pin and 20 pin ATX motherboards."

On the connector with all the 24 wires on it, the end NOT connected to another 25 pin connector (the one with a black and green wire), connect that to the motherboard.

Now connect the other end of that one, to your primary psu, and the one with the black and green to your secondary psu. The black and green will short the secondary psu active pins to make it think it is also connected to a motherboard.

That sounds confusing even with me reading it, let me know if it is not clear.

Plug the main PSU into the female connector on the adaptor with all the wires, then plug the secondar PSU into the female connector on the adaptor with only the green and black wire. Then plug the male connector on the adaptor to the mobo.

I approve of this female & male talk!

I thought that's the correct terminology?
make your own? this is a waste of money. all you really need to two paper clips, as the wires do not get hot.
Two paper clips?

You need only about an inch of wire. You need only short the green wire to any ground.

I suspose you could, if you wanted, get a relay and wire that up so when you hit the power button, the relay latches on and powers the backup PSU on, but when you press it again to turn the computer off, that PSU kicks back off.

lol or two paper clips and some tape. so that way when you power on one, you power on the other.
