http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829118006

so i have these decent speakers sitting in my garage and i was planing on using those with a dayton 120 sub. this will be mostly for music (dubstep, tranz, drum and bass) with video gaming here and there. going to be using the optical since these speakers are for home theater setup.

so tell me what u think, and i am also open to suggestions but would like to keep the budget as close to 50 dollars or less.

i need the optical connection.

That Turtle Beach sound card uses C-Media's 8768 processor...which is an okay one. Those sound card usually go for $20-25. According to that picture, that card does not have any dedicated DAC, ADC, OP AMP, etc. Basically, it means that card is not that great.

Get the ASUS Xonar instead, like what ericld(above post) said. The DS uses the CM8788, which is one of C-Media's best sound processors. You can go for the DG too if you're on a lower budget. It uses the CM8786. Both are great card.

DG:~$20 after rebate
DS:~$40 after rebate

Basically both are more inexpensive and better than the Turtle Beach.
