HP laptop broken screen need replacement

1480 Views 12 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  qTAP
Recently, my HP laptop screen has broken, and I need to replace it. I was wondering if I can use "any" 15.4inch screen to replace my broken HP screen, unless it has to be a certain kind?

I was also wondering where would be a good website to buy a screen for the laptop. I have contacted HP, but they told me it was out of stock.

Model number for HP screen is
371046-011

Thanks

I'm not exactly sure about compatibility, I don't see why any old 15.4" wouldn't work though (granted it had the correct depth). However, I did find this:

Pretty good price for just a screen replacement. No Google reviews of that site, but it looks to be decent.

wow, you are truly amazing, but no reviews on that website. I'm a little skeptical.

I believe almost all laptop screens are the same, they have the same connector on the screen. I replaced a toshiba 14.1 with an old Dell 14.1 I had laying around. You'll have to replace just the screen, the ribbon that's connected to the screen, you will have to use the one you have.

when i used to work in a repair shop we would order replacement screens on ebay. they are the same screens used by dell, hp, etc. you can usually find a 15.4" screen for 60-80$. just search for "your model here lcd"

EDIT-oops the model of the laptop is dv5-1060ee
The laptop is not bought from the united states. So I think, I have no choice but to purchase the screen from the UK.
