My bios has an HT voltage setting, default is 1.5v and the only other setting is 1.6v. Will setting this to the 1.6v allow for more overclocking?

Also, I there is a chipset voltage setting with the same options. Also set this to 1.6v?

Thanks!

I wonder if it could just be the Vcore???

Yes they will allow for a slightly higher HTT, make sure your chipset doesn't overheat as you only have passive cooling!

You are right Petrol, my error, I mistyped. The HT voltage settings are 1.20v (default) and 1.25v. The vcore I do have set to it's max right now at 1.5v, and the chipset voltage is 1.6v (up from the only other setting of 1.5v).

Thanks for the advice on the chipset though. When I use programs like speedfan, mobo monitor, asus probe, etc.... is the "Motherboard Temperature" being read from the northbridge chipset, or somewhere else?

MAXMAXX22 - No I didnt have any problems, although I do not have a RAID setup configured at this time. I have seen recommendations either way in support of either the nVidia or Silicon. It does matter however whether you use the black SATA connections or the red ones on the board.

I am not too familiar with setting up a raid array on this, but I just saw this recent thread with the same problem it seems

kind of sucks i was under the impression from the advertisements and reviews that it went up to 1.65vcore (must of been an older bios or something)

You could try a different BIOS version and see if that allows your Vcore to be set higher but other than that your stuck

I guess I am running well on the mobo temp then. My CPU is creeping up to 52 degrees C when running hours of Prime95, but the mobo stays in the 30's. I guess then it wont hurt keeping it (the chipset) at the higher voltage.

I think I am at the latest version too for the bios (1011), but I will double check.

Thanks for your help!
