HTC Inspire... Is it normal for the battery to run out this quick?

I have a 3rd party battery from Seidio (which makes great batteries) and the stock battery and they both have this problem. When I have the display on reading something or doing light surfing while listening to music, I lose like 25-30% of battery an hour. Is this normal? I have to always carry 2 batteries to school because of this.

Considering the HTC Inspire only has a 1230 mAh battery, it's pretty normal.

Try turning down the brightness of the screen.

Its actually on the lowest setting, and my notifications only refresh every 1 hour.

Face it, the battery is just weak. My Inspire clocks at around 8-10 hours max at medium usage, so yeah I need to charge it everyday. If you're rooted, try lowering down your phone's CPU clock speed especially when on a screen off state.
Are you running the stock ROM? You may want to try some of the custom ROMs out there with undervolted kernels. My typical drain on the Inspire was about 10% an hour during use and 1-2% while idling

Is there a guide on how to do that? I am new to Android, so I really don't know how.

go to xda-developers.com, click on forums, and find your phone, they have all the guides and tutorials you'll ever need.

It's how pretty much anyone here learned how to do it to theirs!

PM me if you need any help. I just got rid of my Inspire but I've played with just about everything there is on the Inspire/DesireHD

Did you get the Atrix instead? That phone had way too many software related issues that I ended up returning it. It was far better than the Inspire, but it had way too many issues.

Only reason I traded for the Atrix was because I've played with just about every ROM on the Inspire

I don't keep phones for more than 2-3 months at a time

I'm not too happy with this phone so far.. the network randomly disconnects, hops between EDGE/3G/HSPA+. I'm afraid of missing calls now

I had that same problem. Wifi disconnects, Facebook and other programs dont show incoming notifications even when enabling notifications, random bar drops (5 to 1 instantly right next t the base station), dropped calls, etc.

Good luck with yours!
Weird, my dad's Atrix doesn't have that problem, and it actually connects to GPS way faster than my Inspire. Heh, funny world.
