I was wondering if there was a way to well.. embed html into my desktop (where the icons go) so I can input any site I want into it (specificly things like "insertnamehere tip of the day" style things...

You used to be able to do in with windows98 ala "Active Desktop" where you could display local and remote websites as your desktop background, but as far as i am aware you cannot in windows xp, because this type of usage would present a "security issue" i'm sure.

Most of the "tip of the day" and what not sites are now using RSS feeds. You could get a RSS feed reader, and yu can subscribe to the feed which would automatically download into the reader for your viewing pleasure.

You can also do it with desktop item. If you want to know more, just IM me.

Goto Desktop Properties, select the Desktop Tab, then click Customize Desktop, then click the Web tab
