I have two of these rads and they have the screw protection plates. When I screw the fans all the way to the rad, I still here a sound that seems to be similar to a cracking sound. Is that intentionally done by HWLabs to alert the user that you're hitting the plates already? And with these plates is it still possible to bend the rad fins? The screw area isn't under the metal solder junction points where the fluid flows, right? Take note that I'm using the provided screws of the rads with 25mm fans so I'm using the correct screw length.

HWL designed their rads to have the tubes out of harm's way. You can not hit a tube with a screw. And you could not cause enough fin damage to make any difference in performance.
