I want to egt 3ghz from a 2.66ghz chip and I have left my specs using cpu-z

Anyway, I don't think you'll be able to do a lot with the board you have. The CPU is great for overclocking, but you need a good board. The best LGA775 boards ar the P45's. I have two Gigabyte boards, a GA-EP45-UD3LR with a Q9550 that I can clock to 4.2ghz and Fold with at that speed. I also have a GA-X48T-DQ6 with a Q6600 clocked at 3.6ghz. The best board is a GA-EP45-UD3P or R. These boards are easily found on eBay, and if you're patient you can get a decent deal on one. There are other good boards out there for "general" overclocking, too. But I would research a P45 chipset........

Thankyou for that fast reply. Unfortunately I recently became Disabled and do not have the means to buy the board that I would like to get. Can I overclock my RADEON HD4700? Any help in this matter would be deeply appreciated.

Your a nOOb, if you brick (kill) your system, then what you gonna do?

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, seriously, if you are broke, then don't screw with your components, OCing is a trial and error kind of thing, if you mess up, well, you better have something to replace your mistake with .....

Just my 2 cents...

Listen to this guy^ How will you keep the temps in check?Sorry to say but overclocking takes a good board and stable PSU. Come to think of it overclocking is not cheap performance if you want to push the envelope but fun and addicting.
