This.

You should have got a charging lead with the controller, or at least you should have got one with the PS3.

To get it work on the PC?

SixAxis driver for PS3 controller (Win 32-bit)

For the PS3 itself it's just plug and play.

That's a fake from Hong Kong, which is probably why its not working.

While we're at it, hey guys, check out my new iPod that I got for $10:

just charge it from a different hookup then the ps3, usually these fakes aren't tested and could shock your console

Radioshack just had Legit Dual Shock 3 controllers on sale for $30. I'd personally much rather spend the extra $20 and get an official product that may not due harm to my console. Also, when that thing takes a **** (which it eventually will, sooner rather than later), you're going to wind up needing a controller once again anyways.

You get what you pay for.

That controller is for a P3, not a PS3.......(check the PS button)

What's a P3 anyway?

Sarcasm aside, glad you got it to work.
While being said before in a previous post, I would recommend not using that controller in your system. Keep in mind those controls are charged by your console. Before you shout, "obviously", understand the key word is "charged". You have no idea what kind of battery is in that controller or how it will react to your PS3 charging it. This type of product is potentially hazardous and could ruin a multi-hundred dollar investment solely for the fact you got a good deal on a knockoff product.

Please stop using that controller immediately.
If you wanna buy a 3rd party controller and save money that's fine, but buying bootlegs or fake products is not.
