Okay, I got a 10K potentiometer at radioshack to control the fans on my 360:

I got home and installed it (very... crudely). It works but only when the knob is turned almost to 100% (maybe the last 16th of a turn). Anything lower and the fans will not even spin... Can someone help me out?
The fans are 12v and I need a new one. Any idea which one I should use?

It has to be a POT potentiometer like the one in the link above....

+rep for any help provided.

A 10k pot is probably overkill. I used a ~25ohm pot for my 1Amp computer fan and it works quite well. Keep in mind depending on current the fan requires it may burn out a pot. The fans on the 360 probably don't suck that much juice, so I'd try something less than 200ohm. (again, depends on the current the fan uses at 12V).

Okay, thanks! +rep

Oh, BTW, would a 500Ohm be fine?

Yeah, I got a 5k Ohm and it runs after about 50-60%
