I have mushkin ram 2 x 2gb 1600mhz 7-7-7-20 specs. I had it stable on vista 64 os at those spec with 1.92v Pass 6 hour prime blend test. Upgraded to windows 7 clean install and and now it freeze's almost instantly at same specs. Even dropped my cpu overclock back to stock did not help. I have a cd of memtest 86 + and it ran for 2 hours fine. I also raised the ram volts to 1.94 and still freezes during test ( blend, prime ). System in sig
Thank you for your thoughts and time.

If you need more info will share.
I allso have heard that win 7 is easy on the oc's but thats not my case and I can't surely be the only one with this problem. One of you smart people must have a answer my knowledge is limited since this was first build. So smart people around this fourm come and enlighten me.....Please......
You may have to set it at 1333 and overclock the memory to 1600. By overclocking the FSB.
If your memory modules pass memtest, there is nothing wrong with them. The CPU overclock must be unstable or another setting is of. The OS has very little to do with it.

I think you can forget a unstable overclock because even at stock it would crash.

I think something is not correct with your settings just like Andy said; just reset your bios back to stock? or maybe upgrade to the newest version?
Problems in the OS are extremely unlikely.

This is what I ended up doing and upping cpu nb volts dont know why the change. The os shouldnt have affected it but who knows it passed prime blend 2 days prior to the os switch and didnt after. So thank you everyone problem resolved but dont know the cause. Shawn

No I was using it steady then installed win 7 and did a clean install. Right from vista to 7.
