NOTE : This may be a unique 9800GT. No other Palit 9800GT Super has the same box art or a RED PCB. My doubts are that this is from a new stock and manufacturing process and could be a 55nm 9800GT

BTW What is the die size on 55nm G92 ?

anyway to know if this is 55nm except measuring the GPU ?

Look at that frog

What's included

Tiger is still in his den

Tiger is out

Beast Unleashed

Back of the beast is where the fun is

Extra 512MB memory for all those mods for Oblivion, HL2 , and maybe FC2 .

it won't show 55nm in gpu-z , gpu-z doesn't know the difference b/w 55nm and 65nm parts

gpu-z shows 55nm for me but im running a hd3850
im sure it can tell the difference, or it just reads the bios either one
i think you have a 65nm card

look at the die and if it says this: G92-270-A2
then its the 65nm version.

if it says this: G92-280-B1
its the 55nm version

^^^ Ok Hold on,

1. "GPU-Z" doesn't know the difference between 65nm and 55nm parts. This is straight from author's mouth, Wizzard.

2. Release date is not read from bios or anything, it is added into GPU-Z by Wizzard like editing a text file. GPU-Z just matches up the card name against the release dates in that file and shows it in the screen.

oh well i would check the die and read the marking if you want to be 100% sure.

our palit rep on TPU says that if wolf reads the gpu core markings it could very well be one of the first public sitings of a true 55nm 9800gt. he confirmed that palit has started shipping the 55nm versions.

as for gpu-z.... W1zzard has said many times that nvidia did something weird in the cards bios which gpu-z cannot tell the difference between the 65nm and the 55nm cores on the 9800gt's because they use the same bios as the 65nm counterparts. i think the author of the program would know better than anyone else.

as for this being a special card, it may be. i have yet to see a red pcb 9800gt from palit with the specs of this card. has anyone else gotten one yet?

Same happened for me and my BFG 8800GT. I got a blue pcb, with a completely different cooler. I don't mind though, the blue pcb matches my mobo pcb.
