I dont no witch setting to put the fan on. do i use the manual control and up and down it, in and out of games, or do i disable manuale fan control and let it do its thing. or will this raise the temp's more and lower the life of my card.

Click the checkbox in the enable Manuel Fan Control, when your about to play a game, turn it up to 33% ish. when not gaming i turn the fan down all the way and turn the clocks all the way down aswell. be sure to click the LOCK picture at the to unlock manual overclock. If its warm in the room you game it, turn it up to anything under 40%, higher than that its loud as hell, lol. When im done gaming ill leave the fan on for minute to cool it down.

Is it overclocked? If not it should be fine. Check your temps and make sure they're ok. If it's overclocked and your temps are fine, the only reason to turn it up is if you get artifacts.

I usually put it on manual, but I'm not sure it is necessary.

no it's no oced for every day use, what are the safe temps for these card's
If your cards are not OC'd then you will probably be fine leaving the fans on auto. 4890's run hot. They can run stable up to 90C. If your cards are staying under 80C give or take you should be fine. My fan on auto doesn't get above 60% fan speed and temps don't go above 80C while gaming. I don't start hearing the fan over case fans until almost 70%. I started using MSI afterburner to set my fan speeds and it works great. I like it better than CCC overdrive.

Ultimately though I would fiddle with it while gaming. Get the fine line of heat vs fan noise figured out for your personal tastes.
