I have problem with Yahoo messenger

hello all...

I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and now it's my new formal OS with no other one, so I have installed all the programmes I need again for sure, my problem now is with Yahoo messenger, that I can't ever sign in, I have been with this problem for a while for now, for the last 2 weeks too, when I switched from Vista to Win7, so I left Win7 for 2 weeks for just trials, to see what apps that might not work with it, and I have finally reinstalled Windows 7, (yesterday) and I can't sign in to Yahoo messenger, though I have tried several versions of it: ymsgr900_2112_us, ymsgr900_2133_us, and even the ymsgr1000_1102_us which is the latest BUILD version of yahoo, did this happen with you too ? I checked my firewall settings... Proxy server... so what ideas do you suggest ???

Personally, I would download a different IM client, such as Pidgin, and see if that works.

I don't know if I can sign in my Yahoo account through another messnger software, can I ? what are those softwares then ?

Did you do a fresh install or an upgrade? I did an upgrade from Vista and had problems logging into my messengers.

MSN messenger supports yahoo IIRC.

if you are referring to Windows 7, then it was not an upgrade from vista, it was a fresh install, and therefor... all apps were fresh install as well. including Yahoo

well... I have installed Pidgin, and OK, I could login into my yahoo account, but where is my contact list? I don't see any of them.

I still need to use Yahoo messenger, that there was no one as it for chatting within yahoo account, and if I will consider using the MSN messenger for yahoo contacts, then I will not be able to use the microphone of camera.

ummmm.... here I resolved the problem, and wanted to post this answer, to be beneficial for you in case that some one will undergo the same problem I faced:

what I did is that I tried to bypass the proxy server, and I used the UltraSurf "U.96" for this purpose, and then I got my yahoo messnger working again, and I am going to try installing the latest update from yahoo, and see if it will work, and I really hope it does.

I also agree, use a different IM client. I personally use Trillian.
