Wine.
FTW

it supports all of my games!
that I play...

only issue i have is Xfire (the program)

On my test rig that i have been fiddling around on, i cant seem to get Xfire to work without crashing.

I put ubuntu on my rig one day I didn't really like it, I don't think I gave it much of a chance though I might try it again some time when I'm really bored in the holidays If i can't get a job in a computer shop

takes some time to get used to.

Took me about a week to finally figure out how to start doing anything.

Out of curiousity, have you gotten L4D/L4D2 to work in Ubuntu?
I run on Ubuntu for 2 years! great OS and as long as you do not MESS with anything (like I did), you should be fine.

Almost 2 years for me without windows (only in virtual box) on my main pc. I don't game tho'. But i've tinkered around with alot.... thing i like is since i have a seperate drive for my /home drive, when i want to reload, i just blow away my OS drive, reload and everything is still there. I gotta load a couple of programs but for the most part it is ready to go... I really like ubuntu... none of the headaches of spyware and malware and viruses...

why do you have a i386 install when your on a amd chip?

lol

Um, because i386 is 32-bit. AMD-64 is 64-bit so :/ If you want 32-bit you use i386 and AMD-64 if you 64-bit.

Reason - Intel owns 32-bit so it is i386
AMD owns 64-bit so it is AMD-64

Cause i'm lazy and don't want to mess with flash to get it working properly. 64bit still doesn't work right with flash without a good deal of fiddling. If you like ubuntu, you should check out Ubuntu Ultimate... it is has a ton of stuff preloaded, i was running it for a while but wanted to check out the new 9.10.
http://ultimateedition.info/ultimate-edition-2-3/ I may go back to it again later but i had the 64bit one loaded and the flash stuff drove me nuts...

Use ubuntu Mint. Then you have NO issues

Use the Xfire plugin for Pidgin. Works a lot better, but doesn't detect the games you play, obviously.
