I want to grab a cheap laptop to play some older games such as Dead Space 1 and possibly 2 at native resolution. i have a laptop now but the processor is a massive bottleneck for some reason. it's an HP Elitebook 8530P, it has a Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz T9600 and a mobility radeon 3650. dead space does run but for some reason the CPU gets maxed out for no reason and the game stutters badly. HALO 2 also has severe CPU issues which ruin it for me. Half-Life 2 runs smoothly pretty near maxed out without AA but again the CPU becomes a real issue in some places which is strange i ran the game on a core 2 duo 1.8ghz back in the day and had no issues but whatever.

I really dont want to spend more than 500-600 dollars because it just isn't worth it to me i really only want to play older games such as the ones listed above i would like to play silent hill homecoming but that is probably a pipe dream due to my budget. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

This will slap the FPS out of all those games and run a lot of new ones too.

Dead Space was released in 2008, so... it's not surprising that you can't really max out that game with a laptop with those specs. Heck, for $600, you can get a pretty damn snappy machine with pretty wicked specs. You can find used or refurbished Inspiron 7559 laptops for $600 pretty easily. Those are two generational models old, but take my word on this one, a 960M will handle any older game no problem. :p

Lenovo Y50-70 is still dirt cheap. Sub $450 for a laptop with an 860M (750 Ti equivalent). https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-Y50...521504&hash=item56ab189ab9:g:ReAAAOSwpDpamcwk
